March Madness HMS Foundation Fundraising Campaign 2025 is here!
If it’s March, it’s time for MARCH MADNESS, the annual fundraising campaign for the Henderson Middle School Foundation. Starting March 1st, the race is on to see which team can raise the most money to support HMS! The HMS Foundation is here to help fill in the gaps left by county funding, and to encourage and support the teachers at HMS as they educate our kids!
We can’t do that without a successful fundraising campaign. That’s where YOU come in. While county funding covers the essential expenses at HMS, there are many examples where more money would allow our students to have more educational opportunities. Whether you can contribute $1 or $1000, every dollar helps. Through your previous donations, the Foundation has been able to fund VR sets for the STEM lab, teacher education seminars, band room technology improvements, and just last week we were able to fund new equipment for the tennis courts! That is just this year!
This year’s fundraising goal is $40,000, and using that money we seek to:
School beautification
New bleachers
New refrigerator for concession stand
Fund teacher seminars and certifications
Other needs where county funds fall short
March Madness is set up as a competition between the school teams. Each grade has a name. 6th Grade are the 3 Pointers, 7th Grade are the Free Throwers, 8th Grade are the Swishers and ELs and Educational Ed are the Slam Dunkers.
1, 2, 3, 4... We Declare a Money War
Where: Henderson Middle School Cafeteria
When: Tuesday (3/4) and Fridays (3/14, 3/21, and 3/28) during all lunch periods
How to participate: Each team has their own jug for collecting money located in the cafeteria. ADD POINTS to your jug by adding pennies and paper bills. SUBTRACT POINTS from other teams by adding silver coins to their jugs.
The team with the most points wins a Soda and Takis Party!
The winning team will be announced on Monday, March 31st! Go Cougars!
Team parties/prizes include:
Popsicle Party: Team w/ the largest % members with online donations
Soda and Takis Party: Team winner of Money Wars
Pizza and Prime: Team with the top donation amount for all of March Madness
Follow the HMS Foundation on Facebook for raffle giveaways during the contest – teachers are eligible too!
Stay tuned for more information and links on how to donate. Each team will get a link to a PLEDGESTAR website to donate. Please remember that many employers will match donations, and donations may be tax deductible. Corporate support is welcomed and comes with advertising opportunities, including space on the big banner on busy Henderson Road.
